These periods alternate 25 minutes of sitting meditation (zazen) with five minutes of walking meditation(kinhin). There is a 20-minute sutra service (chanting) on Saturday at 9 AM, and orientations are available on request after the Saturday sit (10:30 AM).

This one day retreat replaces the normal scheduled activities at ZDS, including the Saturday sit and sutra service.
Pat Hawk Roshi will be delivering a teisho (presentation) at 2:30 PM. Visitors are welcome for teisho at no cost (arrive around 2.20 pm and wait in the carpeted room to be ushered into the zendo).
Cost to attend the Zazenkai is $30 for ZDS members and $35 for non-members. (Financial assistance is available on request.).
