Membership is available, but not required.
Membership in ZDS admits of several different degrees of commitment, involvement, and activity.
For the most part, the declaration of type or category of Membership is a self-made decision: we inspect and introspect our private and public practice and decide, based on the guidelines below, which category we either currently fit, or which level we would like to begin to engage in.
Please read the descriptions and guidelines below carefully. You may also discuss these guidelines with the ZDS Board members, and ask them any questions you may have about membership.
Financial support of ZDS is desired of all members and friends, but, as you will see in reading the guidelines below, membership declarations are also concerned with one's level of past or current involvement with sangha activities, including work projects, sesshin (retreats), participation in business meetings or board meetings, and support of other ZDS goals or projects, via time and work commitments.
